Aaron Ramsey is yet to sign a new contract at Arsenal, but club bosses are understood to be confident a new deal can be reached.
The midfielder will be a free agent next summer, which will increase his earning power.
Ramsey reportedly earns £110,000-a-week and is said to be seeking to double wages, however, the Evening Standard report the Gunners are standing firm and will not be held to ransom over a new deal.
It was thought he wanted parity with Mesut Ozil, who signed a £350,000-a-week contract in January, though this has been rubbished by his representatives.
In August, manager Unai Emery said he wants the 27-year-old to stay. “My opinion is clear, I want him to be with us. He’s the type of player I want in this team. But the contract is one thing only for the club and the player.”
Ramsey has been at the Premier League side since leaving Cardiff in 2008 and has been key to Arsenal’s recent FA Cup successes, scoring in the 2014 and 2017 finals.
