Arsenal and AS Roma officials are set for a crucial meeting next week to trash out the details regarding the permanent transfer of Polish goalkeeper and Arsenal’s third choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny who spent last season on loan at the Italian capital club.
The deal was revealed by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who is also an Italian football expert. The deal is reported to be worth around £11.7 million after which the Polish player will bid his former team mates a final goodbye .
This news is contrary to Wenger’s public statements that the 26 year-old is still a part of his plans at the club.
With the goalkeeper in Roma, Luciano Spalletti’s team was able to finish third in the table behind both Juventus who were crowned Champions and Napoli. Roma will play in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League next season after exiting the competition in the round of 16 to eventual champions Real Madrid.
