It appears Jamie Vardy will stay at Leicester City and not move to Arsenal. But Arsenal despite the inability to sign Vardy, are looking to bring in a striker this summer. It is reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Islam Slimani from Portuguese giant Sporting CP as alternative if their move for Jamie Vardy fails.
Arsene Wenger is preparing an alternative just in case the Leicester City and England striker turn down a move to Arsenal after the European championship, according to The Sun,
Scout report reveals Slimani would offer similar value to Arsenal, as he is believed to have a 23.5 million pounds release clause. The Algerian also had a fantastic season last tearm at Sporting CP , scoring 30 goals.
Sporting manager Jorge Jesus had admitted that the Portuguese club is helpless to prevent Slimani leaving if an acceptable bid is made.

1. An outright striker
Slimani is the most skilled forwards, but the striker has plenty of impressive stlye to his game. He is pacey, operates more in the penalty box, the Algerian buries chances off with his head as he is with his feet and could take to the Premier League by storm quickly.
2. In good form
The 27-year-old Algerian is in the midst of his best season of his life, just like Vardy, having scored 18 goals in 28 games earlier on last season. And that’s three more goals than he scored throughout the previous season, with two of his strikes last term coming in the Europa League.
3. Scores in big games
Slimani’s goals have not been limited for lesser opponents either; one of his earliest strikes for Sporting was the winner in a 1-0 victory over league rivals FC Porto. He also scored in the club’s 3-2 triumph over Braga in the Cup Final. Slimani’s The Algerian scored in wins over Benfica and Porto.
4. Good International pedigree
In 41 games for Algeria to date, the 27-year-old has scored 20 goals at a rate of one every two appearances. 5. Handles pressure well
His ability to score against top oppositions shows that he can handle pressure quite well. Including scoring in cup final win, Slimani also scored in Sporting’s 3-1 win over Besiktas which helped the club to progress to the knockout round of the Europa League.
