£4m bid tabled! Arsenal close to agreeing deal for right back

The January transfer window does not only provide opportunity for clubs to bolster their squad, it also present the avenue to secure players for the future.

Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly taken their rivalry off the pitch and to the transfer market with reported interest in Barnsley defender James Bree.

The 19-year-old has also caught the eye of Manchester City, Tottenham, West Ham, and Southampton from the Premier League, but it is actually Championship Aston Villa who are thought to be ready to make the first move.

The Midlands club are expected to make a £4 million move for the right-back, according to the Daily Mirror.

Arsenal are in need of a right back as they have lost faith in Hector Bellerin and injuries to Debuchy means he cannot be relied on any more.

Bree has made 17 appearances for the Tykes in the second tier, and has shown enough to draw the interest of many Premier League sides.
