If reports coming out from the media today are anything to be believed, then Arsenal fans will have something to cheer about in the January transfer window. It is been reported that Wayne Rooney will be moving to Arsenal in the January transfer window in a deal said to be worth at least 40 million pounds. Daily mirror’s Simon Mullock who is usually reliable when it comes to Arsenal news reports that Arsenal will be attempting to sign the Englishman for 40 million pounds once the January window opens.
Wayne Rooney who has been out of action for the last few days with a head injury returned to action yesterday scoring United’s second goal in a 2-0 win over Premiership new comers, Crystal Palace.
Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are not joking with their intentions to recruit a marquee striker and they have earmarked both Wayne Rooney and Liverpool’s Luiz Suarez as targets with the Manchester United man the most likely to sign.
Rooney was close to joining Chelsea in the last transfer window but the transfer was stopped by David Moyes who refused to let go his second best striker to a direct title rival. Arsenal were also thought to have tabled a bid of 30 millions pounds on the very last day of the transfer window which was rejected by United due to the lateness of the bid which means they will have no chance to recruit a replace.
