Arsenal star centre back Shkodran Mustafi has become the toast of Arsenal fans, not just for his performance but for his ability to make bare his mind.
Mustafi seem to know what it will take Arsenal to win trophies and he has been urging his mate to be more disciplined in tactics.
Arsenal have steadily improved in all competitions this term and the boys have added steeliness to their game so far.
This week’s demolition of Ludogret in the Champions League raised hopes that the Gunners could be on course for their first taste of glory in the competition.
Mustafi isn’t getting carried away though.
And he’s warned his team-mates they must carry on their current approach if they are to have something to celebrate come next May.
“It’s about having identity, Mustafi said. “We are doing well reading the game, because sometimes it’s important to go up there and win the ball in the last third of the pitch.
“But sometimes it’s about being back, being compact and trying to win the ball in the middle of the pitch. I think that’s what makes big teams win titles, reading the game well.
“It’s not only about us just keeping playing our game. Sometimes if you see that it doesn’t work you have to change it and you have to be able to change your style of play.
“We’re doing that well, because sometimes we’re just playing always in the opponents’ half, and sometimes we’ll just drop and play counter-attack.”
Arsenal return to Premier League duty when Middlesbrough travel to the Emirates on Saturday.
