The London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea seems to have come early enough but this time, not on the pitch.
The Gunners are set to lock horns with London rivals Chelsea in a bid to sign midfielder Marcelo Brozovic after the player’s agent Miroslav Bicanic claims his client is up for sale.
Brozovic has reportedly been told by his club, Inter Milan, that he is for sale, despite making 36 appearances for the Serie A giants last season. Now the Croatian’s agent has confirmed Brozovic is in the market.
“Marcelo is to be considered a player on the market and therefore on sale”, Bicanic told FC Inter News.
“He is a great player and a great professional who behaves as such at Inter. But he would certainly do the same at any other club.
“We’ll see in the coming days, for the moment I can’t add anything else.”
The Inter midfielder is targeted by Juventus, but Inter want to sell Brozovic to a club outside Italy.
This leaves Arsenal and Chelsea are the contenders for the 23-year old’s signature. However, how the tussle pans out between both sides with under a week left in the transfer window is left to be seen.
