Arsenal have been keeping tabs on PSV Eindhoven midfielder Gaston Pereiro as they look to add the South American to the rank of the club, this is according to reports.
The 21-year-old made a huge statement with his performance in the Eredivisie last season and caught the attention of various top clubs including Arsenal. He scored 14 goals in 39 appearances for the Dutch outfit in all competition.
Dutch media outlet Branbants Dagblad claims Arsenal and Porto have been watching the creative midfielder.
However Speaking to Brabants Dagblad, the south American insisted he isn’t looking for a move away from PSV just yet.
He said: “For my development, I think it’s best I definitely stay in Eindhoven for another year.”
The midfield of Arsenal is already studded with stars and its difficult to see how Pereiro would fit in. But he may just be one of those players for the future as Wenger continues to invest in youngsters.
