The Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil contract saga is one that is protracted and Arsenal may be left with no choice than to sell tem.
Both the German and the Chilean have been linked with moves away from Arsenal in recent times after lengthy and unsuccessful talks to tie them down to new deals for much of the last six months.
Many have been critical of Arsene Wenger’s handling of the saga, with Arsenal known for not always spending enough money to keep their best players happy.
Still, Kanu offered an alternative view, saying he believes Ozil and Sanchez should be happy where they are – at a big club where they are adored by the fans.
‘It is important to keep your best players if you want to move forward,’ he admitted, but argued: ‘They are great players so why should they leave a great club?
‘The fans love them and Arsenal must do everything they can to keep them.’
Kanu won two Premier League titles during his five years with the Gunners, including as part of the famous 2003/04 Invincibles side.
