Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks has told Arsenal that his side are flying at the minute, and that Sunday’s first North London derby of the season has come at the right time for them.
Spurs go into the contest off the back of six straight wins in all competitions, and begun a huge few days for them which a nail-biting victory against Inter Milan in the Champions League at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday evening.
That kept their hopes of progressing in that competition alive heading into their final group match in Barcelona in a couple of weeks, so now their attention turns to a huge Premier League clash with arch-rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
This is the match that the Tottenham fans will be so eager to win, not just to keep pace with the leaders in the top flight, but also to keep themselves above the Gunners in the table.
Winks is certainly confident that his side will be the ones to come out on top in the much awaited clash at the Emirates.
“It is going to be another difficult game, so we have to get right and physically prepared for it, because it is going to be another battle,” Sports Mole quote him as saying.
“It is a game the fans want to win and one that we want to win. Three games in a week is going to be tough, but confidence is high.
“Of course they are beatable. The form we are in right now, it is probably the perfect time to go there.”
Arsenal are in good form too, so if Tottenham are to go across town to win, it will lay down something of a marker of their intensions for the remainder of what could be a big campaign for them.
