ARSENAL look to have found a gem in youngster Reiss Nelson.
That is according to former Gunners defender Martin Keown.
The 17-year-old has only made seven appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
He has mainly been used in an unfamiliar right wing-back role, despite being more comfortable playing further up the pitch.
The youngster came off the bench in Arsenal’s 1-0 Europa League loss to Cologne last night.
Nelson almost levelled the clash, beating three players before seeing his shot parried away by Timo Horn.
And Keown is delighted with what he saw.
“Famous victory for Cologne, let them take their night,” he said on BT Sport.
“They haven’t had too many good ones.
“But I think Nelson can be something special, little flashes there of brilliance.
“That was a great run, pity he didn’t score.”
Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas was equally impressed by the academy graduate.
“This is a brilliant bit of play from Reiss Nelson,” he said.
“He was a real bright spark when he came onto the pitch. He got himself into dangerous situations, that was brilliant.”
Despite losing in Germany last night, Arsenal have already qualified for the knockout stages and secured top spot in Group H.
