Arsenal new boy Henrikh Mkhitaryan has underlined his admiration for the way the Gunners play, and for one player in particular.
The Armenian midfielder completed his swap deal with Alexis Sanchez on Monday, with the Chilean moving to Manchester United. Both players have taken the No. 7 shirts at their respective clubs, although Mkhitaryan will be forced to wear a different shirt in the Europa League.
And it is to Arsenal’s No. 11 that Mkhitaryan is looking to as he bids to start his Gunners career with a bang.
The 29-year-old – who is cup-tied for Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg tie against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday – has cited Mesut Ozil as a special talent and someone he can build a good on-pitch relationship with.
“Here at Arsenal I know that lots of players move a lot and it’s incredible the way [the team] plays. I will do my best to assist them as well,” he told the Gunners website .
“I think it will be really fun to play alongside Ozil. Everyone knows he’s a fantastic player, he’s an assist king! I look forward to it.
