Wenger Set To Make Marco Reus A Gunner As 34 Million Pounds Bid Is Planned

Marco ReusSeems Wenger isn’t done with his raid on German football. Despite the presence of strong German contingent at the Emirates and the late addition of Ozil to the pack, it seems Wenger is still keen on adding to it. According to reports in Italy, Arsenal remain interested in Draxler having tracked him for much of the summer but now face huge competition for the midfielder from Turin giants Juventus.

While the presence of interest might not be denied, the likely fee might be a huge stumbling block. Schalke’s demand of 34 million Pounds in the summer was the main reason why Arsenal dropped the interest and after forking out 42.4million Pounds for his compatriot who is far more experienced, it is unlikely Wenger will sanction another big money splurge on Draxler.

According to the reports, Juventus are interested and are willing to pay the demanded fee.

Another player that Wenger is touted to be interested in is Dortmund’s Marco Reus. Wenger has been previously linked with him while at Borussia Mochengladbach before he secured a big money move to Dortmund. I believe he is the player that Arsenal might need rather than his younger compatriot. He is winger that can also play as a
striker. He could be the new Thierry Henry, owing to his pace and dribbling skills.

Arsenal are still in hot pursuit of a striker and should they fail to convince Liverpool or Manchester United to sell Suarez or Rooney respectively, they could turn to Reus who is certainly a cheaper option and also boasts of the goal sense and versatility those other high profile options offer.

Arsenal don’t need Draxler after signing Ozil. Reus is more of what we need, a clone of Rooney and Suarez. Pacy, skillful and keen eye for goal.
