Wenger Opens Contract Talks With 3 Senior Arsenal Players

Another player Wenger is hoping will renew his contract is Per Mertesacker who according to reports was instrumental in the pursuit of his Germany team mate Mesut Ozil by Arsenal. Mertesack is in the last 2 years of his contract and Wenger hopes to convince him his long term future belongs at Arsenal.

Although he had a slow start to his Arsenal career, he has however grown to become on of the most influential player Arsenal has. His lengthy phone conversation with Mesut Ozil was reportedly instrumental in Arsenal signing Ozil on the transfer deadline day.

The third player Wenger hopes to convince to sign a new day is Tomas Rosicky who is at 32 years of age. He is at the end of his contract and he himself has confirmed to reporters that he is in keen to prove to Wenger he deserves another contract at Arsenal.

Although his Arsenal career has always been blighted with injuries, he still remains one of Arsenal’s most reliable creative force and as such Wenger is to tie him down to another contract.
