Arsenal manager has hinted at the possible signing of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. There have been reports linking the Real Madrid and France striker to Arsenal with reports claiming the Frenchman is set to be offered to Arsenal at 17 million pounds as his form and the constant booing from the fans is set to force Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez to sell him.
In his person blog for Eurosport, Wenger dismissed Suggestions that Benzema and Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud can’t be used in the same attacking line.
“As for whether Olivier Giroud and Karim Benzema can play together, they can, yes,” Wenger wrote on his blog on Eurosport. “But up until now, their partnership hasn’t worked so they must find another way.
“It’s always hard. But you must have guys who are giving good assists as well as guys who can score.
“Right now, those who fail to score are always being singled out. But a question must be answered: do we have enough guys giving good assists? I think France are lacking something in this regard.”
With Arsenal likely to be in in the market for another striker once the January transfer window opens and Benzema been one of the very few viable options available, it will not be too surprising if Arsenal ends up signing Benzema especially as Wenger believes both players can be used together.
