Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal and French defensive midfielder Mathiue Flamini was taken off earlier today when Arsenal and Crystal Palace locked horns as a result of a groin injury. The French man also confirms he is yet to be told by the team’s medical team how long Flamini will be out for.
Unfortunately we lost Flamini today and hopefully it will not be for too long”, Wenger told reporters “It was a groin problem. “I don’t know how long it will be”
Flamini was forced off Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Crystal Palace in the 8th minute and was replaced by 18 year old German under 21 midfielder Serge Gnarby whose cleverly dribble led to a penalty which was scored by Mikel Arteta before Arteta himself was controversially sent off.
Talking about the decision to send off Arteta, Wenger said : “I believe it was the wrong decision. It was very far from goal, he was not the last man. I think he got that wrong.”
