Arsenal’s failure to sign reinforcements in attack and defense is not a result of finance but shortage of players with the right quality, as claimed by Arsenal Wenger.
We have been linked to an array of star players from the inception of the transfer market including Antoine Griezmann of Athletico Madrid. However, the free scoring attacker has alerted Arsenal of his desire to make a Premier League move, this is according to various reports.
The attacker lighted up the European Championship with his impressive performance where he scored six goals and ended the tournament as the Golden Boot winner.
He has drawn interested from Manchester United and Chelsea but Arsenal are thought to be front runners for his signature as it is believed that Wenger will easily lure his compatriot to the Emirates.
His performances have led to speculation over his future but he admits he would only leave for England when his Atletico contract runs out.
When asked whether he would like to play in the Premier League, Griezmann told the Guardian: “Yes, why not?
“If I am out of contract with Atletico I would ask myself that question.”
Since moving from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2014, Griezmann has scored 57 goals in 107 games.
