Arsenal have been installed as firm favourites to sign Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to the Daily Star.
Doucoure is having a fine season at Watford, scoring seven times and providing three assists in 26 Premier League games this season. His fine form has caught the attention of a couple of Premier League big boys including Arsenal.
In recent week, Doucoure has been heavily linked with a summer move away from Watford, with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool believed to be interested in his services.
And bookmakers betfair have subsequntly placed Arsenal as favourites for his signature. The bookmakers placed the Gunners at 9/4 to sign the midfielder ahead of Liverpool who are placed at 10/3 while Spurs trail at 9/2.
Despite the reports linking him with a move away from the club, Doucoure insists he is only focused on Watford and hopes to finish the season well with the Hornets. He told French outlet Telefoot: “It’s true that these clubs are interested.
“But I’m at Watford for the moment and I want to finish my season well.”
However, when asked about which of the three Premier League clubs he would prefer to join, the midfielder named the Emirates as his preferred destination.
“Arsenal because of Arsene Wenger.”
