Welcome To The Emirates! Mkhitaryan Agrees Arsenal Deal – £28.7m Bid Accepted

After failing to sign any outfield player in the summer of 2015, it was apparent that Arsenal needed to bolster the attack among other parts of our squad.

Arsene Wenger was heavily involved in the last transfer window and reports according to the Daily Mail is in the claim that we had an agreement to sign Henrikh Mkitaryan before Jose Mourinho, who knew he doesn’t need the player added £7m more and signed the versatile midfielder.

Since moving from Borrusia Dortmund to United, the Armenia international has been left on the bench more often than not and this has stirred questions among United fans as to why  Mourinho signed him.

The move by Mourinho to sign him then has been inferred to as his ploy to stop Arsenal from signing the player just like he did to Manchester United when he signed Pedro from Barcelona.

It’s certainly not a tactic that is beneath the man who refused to let Demba Ba join on loan. Remember, he also fought against Petr Cech joining.

The report according to Daily Mail claims Arsenal had an agreement in principle with Tomas Tuchel side until United offered more for the player.

Mkhitaryan was right to worry about not getting enough playing time at Arsenal. United were a club that had more space for him in midfield given their lack of talent in there. They still are.

Time makes fools of us all.

In total, he has 104 Premier League minutes this season over four games. He’s made 55 passes (48 complete) and created three chances.
