The thought of seeing other teams sign players and Arsenal doing the direct opposite is one that is agonizing, especially after the defeat to Liverpool last week at the Emirates.
However, if reports making the rounds are anything to go by, the wait for the signing of a defender is over.
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal have now formally submitted a £26million bid for Germany international and Valencia centre-back, Shkodran Mustafi, via the tweet handle of Nicolo Schira.
Nicolo Schira, works for Gazetta Dello Sport, and he claims talks are currently ongoing with Wenger keen on the deal wrapped up before long.
It was widely reported earlier this week that the 24-year-old will be flown into London for medicals with Arsenal next Monday.
Arsenal’s defense is left almost thread bare as a result of the injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista. It means Laurent Koscielny is the only first-choice defender who isn’t injured – but he is severely lacking in match fitness following his prolonged layoff after Euro 2016.
Arsenal will take on Leicester City later today and we will be looking remedy the lose against Liverpool.
