Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is said to be desperate for a striker and is ready to pay Everton what they want for Romelu Lukaku having personally held a meeting with the player’s agent. Lukaku had before the European Championship confirmed he will like to leave Everton for a club that is playing in the Champions League next season. He was linked with a move to Chelsea but it appears he doesn’t want a return to Chelsea after the way he was treated during his first stint with the Blues.
PSG have also been linked with his signing but it seems the French Champions are more focused on getting Higuain and James Rodriguez. And with Manchester United getting Zlatan and already having Rooney and Martial, they have no need for Lukaku. This means Arsenal have a free ride to the signing of the Belgian.
However, Everton now have a sugar daddy and tons of money. They are reportedly ready to offer Lukaku a new deal that will see him earn as much as £100,000 a week and have his release clause hiked up to £75 million.
As back up to Lukaku is Lacezette who is said to be available for £45 million. Wenger is said to have held discussion with his agents as well but Lyon are not ready to burge unless their £45 million valuation is met. Unfortunately for Arsenal, we can’t afford to end another summer transfer window without signing a striker. Failure to sign a striker could amount to serious backlash from the fans which is the last thing the club wants.
