Arsene Wenger has left every one including his players in a state where no one knows his future.
THEO WALCOTT admits he is none the wiser to whether Arsene Wenger will be at Arsenal next season.
Wenger’s out of contract at the end of this campaign and has come under severe pressure to end his 20-year tenure at the club.
Arsenal fans protested for the Frenchman to leave before last night’s humiliating 5-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, with the Gunners crashing out 10-2 on aggregate.
Wenger has previously stated he will announce in March or April whether he will stay or go and Walcott insists he hasn’t told his squad yet.
“The players are like everybody else — we don’t really know what’s going on,” he told the Evening Standard.
“We just want to try to focus on the football.
“The manager is focused on us. You can see how passionate he is with us from the way he talks to us in the meetings.”
The England winger believes it’s unfair Wenger has taken most of the criticism because the players are also to blame.
“He will take this on himself but us players need to look at ourselves,” he added.
“The manager has been taking a lot of flak in recent weeks and us players have been accepting it, but we can’t.
“We need to take the pressure off the manager and that will happen by performances.
“Who knows what the manager will do? Players just want to play football for this club and do well for the manager.”
