After the departure of Mohamed Elneny to the African Cup of Nations and the hamstring injury to Francis Coquelin, Arsenal whose midfield was large are beginning to look and Wenger has admitted that he could do with the services of Wilshere.
Jack Wilshere joined the Cherries on-loan last summer.
Wenger admitted at the time Wilshere wanted to leave to get game time, something he wasn’t assured of at Arsenal.
When asked if he regrets letting Wilshere go, Wenger said: “Yes, I could use him now.
“But if he had not played until now, he would not be ready to play now.
“What looks unfair at some moments in the season is that you know at some stage you could need the player.”
Arsenal are left with just Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka as the only recognised central midfield options.
Academy graduate Wilshere has had a fine, injury-free, season with Bournemouth so far.
He has made 15 Premier League appearances for them but is yet to score for the club.
