Although the fans of Arsenal are dissatisfied with the current state of transfers at the club, we are still holding onto hope that Arsenal will sign a player or two before the close of the window.
Probably because of his “Arsenal-Like” skill and style of play, Riyad Mahrez has been dubbed as the fans favorite for Arsenal and he is currently ahead on the wish list of Arsenal fans in terms of who we should buy.
However, we are greeted with a sad news that the player will not be moving to Arsenal after the owner of Leicester City Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha took to social media and said the 25-year-old PFA player of the season is not for sale.
With rumours mounting over the Algerian’s future, the 59-year-old posted a cheeky Instagram with the winger, saying that the PFA Player of the Year isn’t going anywhere.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the forward this summer, after his amazing performances helped fire the Foxes to the Premier League title last season.
Mahrez ended last season as the most valuable player of the season in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists.
The Foxes are said to value the Algerian at around £35m ($46.3m), but will hope that the midfielder will reject the Gunners’ approach and accept the new contract on offer, said to be worth around £100,000 a week.
