Arsenal have been handed renewed hope of signing Thomas Lemar after Monaco manager Leonardo Jardim admitted more players could leave the Ligue 1 champions this summer.
Bernardo Silva, who finalised his move to Manchester City last month, has been the most high-profile member of team which conquered France last season to leave during the transfer window so far, but Tiemoue Bakayoko appears to be on the verge of completing his switch to Chelsea.
Following a stellar campaign Monaco are currently fending off interest in Lemar, Kylian Mbappe as well as Benjamin Mendy and Jardim concedes he could be powerless to prevent further departures.
‘Three players have left – Dirar, Valere and Bernardo,’ he told reporters. ‘Other players could leave us.
‘Everyone knows our project. It hasn’t changed, even if we have won the title. The project is the same. The goal is still to win.
‘Nothing has changed. It’s very important for us. What matters is the training of the young players and the quality of our game.
‘The only thing that changes is that we are going to start the season being defending champions.’
Lemar has already been the subject one failed bid of £31 million from Arsenal which Monaco were said to view as ‘surprisingly low’, but the Gunners are readying a second offer with Arsene Wenger viewing the France international as a potential replacement for Manchester City-bound Alexis Sanchez.
Mbappe, meanwhile, also coveted by Wenger, is said to have been promised there will be no mass player exodus this summer as Monaco attempt to tie him to a new contract amid interest from Real Madrid.
