This is the core reason i signed Arsenal deal – Hector Bellerin

Arsene Wenger seem determined to retain the current crop of players at his disposal and this is why he is on his toes ensuring that contracts are renewed.

It is no news that Arsenal star Hector Bellerin has put pen to paper on an improved deal, but the player has reveled why the Emirates will remain his favorite fotress.

Speaking to the club’s official website following the good news, the rightback revealed that the reason he chose to sign on with the club for longer was because it feels like his home.

“I’m really, really happy and this club is my home right now,” he said.

“I’ve been here for more than five years now so I was really, really excited when the club told me that they wanted to extend my contract.

“I wasn’t thinking about anything else other than staying here and continuing my development here. This is where I’m happy. I’m just very grateful and pleased to have signed.”

Bellerin signed to Arsenal’s youth squad from Barca in 2011 before breaking into the first team in 2013. Since then, the 21-year-old hasn’t looked back, featuring in 87 games altogether and becoming a regular starter.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the Spaniard is out through an ankle injury he picked in the North London derby but is only expected to be out for four weeks.

Until then, thankfully, this new contract should keep wolves from the door for a couple of years and will also solidify fans’ confidence in the team.

We still have a few more players rumoured to be signing new contracts very soon – Laurent Koscielny and Mesut Ozil included – so hopefully this is just the beginning.
