Arsenal fans who are hoping to that the club will get rid of Theo Walcott this summer can bury the thought of seeing Walcott leave the Emirates Stadium this summer. This is as reports claim the Englishman has rejected a £120,000 a week offer from West Ham claiming he prefers to remain at Arsenal and fight for his chance.
Theo Walcott who had a season to forget for Arsenal in the just concluded season has been linked with a move to both West Ham and Southampton his former club. West ham were said to have firmed up their interest in the player by making Arsenal an offer of £24 million.
It was initially reported that Theo Walcott is considering leaving Arsenal this summer after finding himself falling down the pecking order at the club but according to express, Walcott is now determined to remain at Arsenal and compete with Alex Iwobi and others for a place in the starting line up.
Walcott according to the report by Express has told his friends he does not find the offer from West Ham interesting enough to consider leaving Arsenal. Although Arsene Wenger has publicly confirmed he will like to keep the player, reports claim the club secretly want to get rid of Walcott as he no longer feature in Wenger’s plans.
Arsenal have been linked with the signing of Borussia Dortmund’ Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a replacement for Theo Walcott but may have to drop the interest in the Armenia midfielder now that Walcott is not ready to leave.
