Arsene Wenger has found himself in a situation where he might be forced to do business in the remaining days of the transfer market.
However, per reports,
Thierry Henry has heaped praise on Mesut Ozil, describing the Germany international as one of Arsenal’s most important players.
The Germany international has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top playmakers since his arrival at Arsenal from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.
Ozil has won two FA Cup trophies since his arrival at the north London club but is yet to taste Premier League glory with the Gunners.
Indeed, Arsenal have not lifted the Premier League trophy since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season, when Henry was still playing for the Gunners.
However, Henry feels that Ozil deserves more respect for the way he plays the game and the former France international is desperate to see the World Cup winner lift the Premier League trophy with the Gunners.
Writing in his column for The Sun, Henry said: “Mesut is a genius. Normal people don’t think like him. If he tries a backheel and loses it people say he should have taken care of the ball. If it comes off everyone stands up: ‘Wow, what a player!’
“The only thing is when a guy goes past him at times he lets him go. But Robert Pires used to do that, too.
“Mesut isn’t going to work like an Adam Lallana — that’s not him. We knew Robert wasn’t the sort to put his foot in. But that was OK, Patrick Vieira was covering for him.
“The team is all about balance and helping each other. But I’d love to see Mesut really boss games.
“He can make this Arsenal HIS team. Make the Emirates HIS home. Make it HIS era at Arsenal.
“The Emirates has two FA Cups — he can give it its first title. That’s history right there. Become a legend.”
