Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal and Germany midfielder Lukas Podolski that he has to up his game. Wenger claims he believes Podolski has the ability to become a great player but it all depends on how much effort the German puts into developing himself.
Wenger was question on Arsenal’s German trio ahead of Arsenal champions league clash against Germany deputy champions Borussia Dortmund, Wenger claims Mesut Ozil was “born a world class player”, he claims Per Mertesacker is “one of the best defenders in the world”. He however claims Podolski has a lot to do on his personal development.
Talking about Podolski, Wenger said :
“Lukas Podolski is super talented, he can play very well with others, has great power, can take free kicks and scores goals from anywhere, but he can develop and become better.
“You always have the feeling that he is 80, 90 percent there, but you want him to give 100 per cent and then he’ll be world class. There’s more to come from him.”
Podoslki has only played 1 EPL game for Arsenal this season and has been ruled out of action since August.
