Arsenal are ready to offer Olivier Giroud as part of an exchange in a deal to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Borussia Dortmund are reluctant to sell Aubameyang without having lined up a suitable replacement, while the Gunners have also failed to match the club’s £60 million evaluation.
After several days of talks, the Gunners are still some way off Dortmund’s asking-price having offered £44 million last week.
Now according to Kicker, Arsenal plan to use Giroud to make up the difference for the Gabon international.
The reports claim the club will launch a £52 million bid + Giroud on Monday, with the Frenchman arriving on loan until the end of the season.
Giroud is likely to be keen on a move to Germany having found game time offered at a premium this season. The striker has started just once in the Premier League with current club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette Arsene Wenger’s preferred option.
