Former Tottenham Director Of Football, Damien Comolli has said that he can see Luis Suarez playing at Arsenal.
Comolli said that he feels that Suarez would join Arsenal, because he will love to work with Arséne Wenger, who has a history of working with strikers, and helping them achieve their potential and much more. He told talkSPORT: “I think another aspect is knowing that he’s going to work with one of the best managers in the world at Arsenal, as far as developing strikers is concerned.
“Look at the strike rates of Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, George Weah at Monaco, Emmanuel Adebayor and Nicolas Anelka.
“Suarez is probably thinking I’m going to become a better player and on top of that I’ll play in the Champions League.”
Comolli, who was the Director of Football Strategy at Liverpool until 12th April 2012, was responsible for many signings like Andy Carrol, Jordan Henderson, José Enrique and Luis Suarez himself. He also worked as a European scout for the Gunners, responsible for the discovery of several Arsenal players like Kolo Touré, Emmanuel Eboué and Gaël Clichy. He has also signed many of Spurs’ first team players, like Luka Modric and Benoit Assou-Ekotto, and was responsible for bringing through young talent like the £87 million rated Gareth Bale.
The Suarez transfer saga reached a new low, when Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, accused Arsenal of being a ‘club without any class’.
