Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has recently adopted a style of play that sees Alexis Sanchez lead the attack of Arsenal. This has been working well for Arsenal and there are stats that now shows that Sanchez has a superior coversion rate that Giroud.
Sanchez is joint top scorer with Theo Walcott for Arsenal this term – he has scored five goals in six of his cameos for Arsenal as the pointman. He stats revealed that he is far more clinical and reliable that his French team mate.
Since joining Arsenal, Giroud has not scored more than 16 League goals in a season and he has been widely criticized for his poor conversion rate. There were calls from fans for the Wenger to reinforce his attack at the summer.
However, I personally have always advocated for Sanchez to be moved up front for Arsenal and the Chilean is now proving Wenger right and all his doubters wrong.
This is an excerpt from a report we got.
“According to stats from WhoScored, the Frenchman managed to put away just 15.3% of his chances, while Sanchez is on 21.1% so far this season.
It’s only early days yet, but the signs are very encouraging from the 27-year-old, whose pace and skill make him a more attractive prospect than Giroud to lead the line for Arsenal, though some will previously have doubted his ability to reach similar scoring numbers.
This is despite the former Barcleona man actually out-scoring Giroud in his first season at the Emirates Stadium, netting 25 times in all competitions from out wide, while Giroud got just 19.”
