Arsenal look likely to part ways with midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer despite him with his teammates for their pre-season tour of Australia.

The Gunners begin their pre-season with a clash against Sydney FC on July 13 while they take on Western Sydney Wanderers in the same ANZ Stadium four days later.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract has been a topic of discussion in recent weeks, according to Sky Sports, it looks likely that the player could leave following another halt in contractual discussions.

The Ox came up with his best campaign in the Gunners shirt with six goals and 11 assists, and even this, does not assure him of a regular starting role which he is craving for ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Hector Bellerin could be tipped to start at right wing-back for Arsenal next term with Sead Kolasinac on the other flank, while the central midfield positions look settled with Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka likely to remain unchanged for the opener.

Oxlade-Chamberlain only got a run in central midfield due to an injury to Ramsey last term, and he is said to be reluctant to second fiddle in the first-team for another season.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are some of the suitors for Oxlade-Chamberlain but the Gunners still remain confident of sorting out a deal, although the discussions have reached a roadblock.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has spent six years at the Emirates following his arrival from Southampton as a 17-year-old, but the lack of sufficient progress appears to have brought up the frustration.
