ARSENAL will sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this month because of head of recruitment Sven Mislintat.
That’s according to former FA executive and Sky Sports pundit Adrian Bevington.
The German arrived at the Gunners in November after leaving his position as chief scout at Borussia Dortmund.
And he was spotted in Germany last week alongside other Arsenal officials to begin negotiations over a deal for the Gabon international.
Talks are ongoing and while the two parties still disagree in their valuation of the player, the signing is expected to be completed before next week’s transfer deadline.
And Bevington is convinced it will happen because of Mislintat’s relationship with those in charge at Dortmund.
“Since (Robert) Lewandowski left Dortmund he’s been carrying their attack,” he told The Debate.
“He’s a big goal scoring threat in that league.
“Obviously he’s a character who has courted a bit of controversy in recent times as well but I’m pretty sure we’ll see him at Arsenal before the window closes.
“The sporting director has come from Borussia Dortmund so he knows the people he’s dealing with.
“The reports suggest that Arsenal have bid €50m, that Dortmund want £50m. If that is the case it’s going to happen.”
Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League, five points behind fourth-placed Liverpool.
