Arsenal could accept £10m to sell Aaron Ramsey to Juventus in the January transfer window and fund new signings this month, according to reports.
Sky Sports News reported last week that Ramsey had signed a pre-contract agreement to join the Serie A champions this summer.
However, the Evening Standard now claim that whilst Juventus remain ‘highly likely’ to sign Ramsey at some point, it may well be this month instead.
According to a report by James Olley, Arsenal have expressed an interest in signing James Rodriguez on loan from Real Madrid. It would cost £3m to cut the Colombian’s current deal with Bayern Munich short.
Unai Emery remains keen to keep Ramsey around until the end of the season, but if the Welshman does leave now, it could fund the moves for both James and Barcelona’s Denis Suarez.
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the possibility of a January sale.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Goal) claimed that Juventus are still trying to sign the midfielder this month.
They’re looking for immediate reinforcements and would be willing to pay ‘a fair amount’ to complete a deal.
The good news is that this will all be resolved in the next week and a half. After that, Arsenal can get back to focusing on the players they have until the end of the season.
