It is already late November and Arsenal star striker Oliver Giroud has not started a Premier League game despite being the only fit natural Centre-forward at the club.
Following his predicament at Arsenal, Theo Walcott has revealed that the French forward is frustrated at Arsenal.
Giroud resumed late at Arsenal due to an extended break handed to him after the European Championship and he has made 11 appearances in all competitions, starting in just two of those games.
Sanchez has been favoured by Wenger as his point man beginning this season and this has left Giroud more as a fringe player.
However, Giroud has impressed during his time on the pitch and has still managed to net five goals.
And while Walcott hailed his team-mate, the winger opened up on Giroud’s frustration.
“Olivier’s strengths are fantastic,” Walcott said
“I know he will be frustrated with the amount of games he has not played but if you look at his scoring record and how effective he has been when he has been on the pitch – again [on Sunday against Bournemouth], coming off the bench and grabbing an assist.
“It just shows he keeps on reminding the manager what he can do.”
He is now been dubbed as a super-sub and he may be given the nod to play against Southampton in the EFL Cup on Wednesday despite injury concerns.
