If reports from Spain are anything to be believed, Arsenal’s new signing Mesut Ozil was depressed when the just concluded transfer window closed as he believes his father was wrong to have make him sign for Arsenal. Ozil had signed for Arsenal in a 42.5 million pounds deal just days after he stated his desire to remain at Real Madrid.
Although we are not sure if it is true that the player was depressed after finding out he is no longer a Real Madrid player but the player has confirmed he was forced out by Real Madrid ( not his father ).
“At that time [the press conference on Wednesday], I was convinced I’d stay at Real Madrid,” Ozil told dfb.tv.
“I soon realised the coach [Carlo Ancelotti] and those responsible no longer placed trust in me. I am player who needs trust and I felt that at Arsenal. That’s why I made the switch.”
It is obvious Real Madrid wanted Ozil out, if not I see no reason why they will sell their second best player. I sincerely hope Ozil understands he is going to be much more appreciated at Arsenal than at Real Madrid.
