As the transfer market winds down, we hope Arsenal are not waiting for the closing day of the transfer market to sign a player. I think whatever transfers that need to be done by Wenger should be done on time so that players can bed into the team on time.
It seems Arsenal now have a deal in place for the prime defender transfer target Shkodran Mustafi. The Germany born defender was spotted training away from the first team with two other players that are reported to be transfer bound.
Arsenal are publicly on the look-out for a centre-back, following Per Mertesacker’s boo-boo, and therefore, it’s very, very probable that we’re interested in signing him. Gabriel Paulista is also nursing an injury. This leaves Arsenal with no first choice centre back.
What’s more is that apparently Garcia Pitarch – Valencia’s director of football – is in London. Now, it should probably be said that the La Liga club are currently in the UK for pre-season, so this could be nothing. But we’ll see.
Ozil had once said Mustafi is his best friend. We are thinking he will lure the player if Arsenal are really interested.
