Arsenal new boy Lucas Perez has revealed that he is willing to play wherever Wenger deems fit for him, after being left on the bench more often than not.
Perez came on as a substitute in our Champions League win over Ludogrets on Wednesday but played from the wing. He later provided two assist for Mesut Ozil to add to his two goals in the EFL Cup. He was highly praised after the game.
Afterwards, he said he’s willing to pitch in in various positions, and know he has the trust of Arsene Wenger.
“I can adapt to any position in the attack,” he told IB Times “I am here for every time the manager needs me. The coach told me to be patient because he trusts in me.
“He says that he has been following me for a long time and that he likes me so I have to be patient. He said that opportunities will come and today he has proved it. He is a good guy and is always there to help us.”
And at 28 he’s mature enough to know how it goes, especially when a team is playing so well.
“When you arrive at a new club it’s obvious that you have the enthusiasm and the desire to prove your worth,” he said. “But this is Arsenal and there is much competition, those who are playing are doing well.
“When I came to Arsenal I knew where I was coming. I know there are great players here. I have to wait for the opportunity.
