LUCAS PEREZ says he’s loving the competition for places at Arsenal.
The Spaniard was snapped up from Deportivo La Coruna in the summer but has struggled to make an impact.
Despite only recently arriving at the club, Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato suggested last week that he could leave Arsenal on loan in January.
However, Perez insists he’s enjoying working with the Gunners’ other attackers.
“There is plenty of competition to get one spot in the line up, which is great for the team,” he told Arsenal’s official website.
“Not only the strikers are fighting for a place, but also defenders or midfielders.
“Our squad is hungry to play and you can see that in every training.
“I already knew Alexis very well, I’ve seen him play a lot for his club and country. He is quick, skilful on the ball and a great guy.
“He is very kind and I have an excellent relationship with him. I hope we can go on like this.
“Giroud is a real extrovert and funny guy. He has been really nice with me from the very first day. He is a great striker.
