Arsenal have been in fine form beginning this term with the club losing only one game hitherto – the boys are expected to maintain the same momentum when they return from the international break to face Swansea in the Premier League.
Germany international and Arsenal midfield schemer Mesut Ozil has revealed that he admires the personality of Arsene new boy Granit Xhaka.
Xhaka joined Arsenal last summer from Borussia Monchengladback but he is now known at Arsenal for his long-range shots. He has scored twice for Arsenal this term from very wide distances.
Currently away on international duty with Germany, Ozil was quick to praise the qualities of fellow countryman Shkodran Mustafi, who has been key to the Gunners’ improved record at the back in recent games.
However, he was particularly gushing over Xhaka, who has been eulogized for his shooting ability.
Ozil, speaking like any die-hard Gooner, admits he’s also a big fan of the new-boy’s left peg.
‘He’s a really positive guy, very down to Earth and we’ve already seen that he can score goals. He’s got a left hammer!’ Ozil is quoted in the London Evening Standard.
On Mustafi, he added: ‘I’ve known Shkodran from the German national team and we spoke a lot about this club before his transfer.
‘He had a few questions about the team, the manager and the city. We spoke about things and I was pleased that he eventually decided to move here.’
