Danny Welbeck is set to be offered the chance to sign for Galatasaray next summer.
England forward, 27, may now have played his last game for the Gunners after being ruled out for the season with a nasty ankle injury.
Welbeck is currently recovering from an ankle injury, after a couple of surgeries last month. Arsenal still plan to support the former Manchester United man through his rehabilitation and hope he’ll return before the end of the season, but aren’t willing to risk tying him down long-term in the meantime.
According to The Times’ report, Welbeck turned down a move to Southampton in August, when Arsenal were willing to sell. Crystal Palace have also expressed an interest in him.
The forward will be out of contract at the end of June and with no chance to prove himself on the pitch is unlikely to be offered a new deal by Arsenal chief Unai Emery.
He now joins the likes of Aaron Ramsey to leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer next summer.
