Arsenal could be on the verge of losing another star following Alexis Sanchez swap move to Manchester United but this time it’s going to be La Liga champions Real Madrid.
Reports coming from Spain claim:
“Real Madrid will make an offer for Nacho Monreal during the summer.”
Monreal now look improved on his game with Arsenal having scored three goals with two assists so far this season. Obviously if he plays for a club as popular around the world as Real Madrid, it’s going to be a massive boost for his footballing career.
The signing of Monreal could be the catalyst for a major shake-up at the defence for the reigning UEFA champions, with the trio of Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, and Marcelo all not in great shape this season. Varane, on the other hand, has been linked with an exit to Manchester United and Monreal could serve as a replacement for the Frenchman.
Florentino Perez is desperate for several ‘Galactico’ signings and Monreal is one of the many superstars being touted as a potential incoming, along with Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar, Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
According to the report from Spain, it’s believed that the Los Blancos are preparing a whooping £50m offer to sign the left-back – who can also be deployed as a centre-back – as one of their new ‘Galatico’ signing next summer.
Arsene Wenger will be desperate to keep hold of their talisman as they look to cement their spot in next season’s Champions League by playing to the final stages and winning the UEFA Europa League.
Arsenal are currently sixth in the Premier League ranking but threw away the opportunity to close the gap on those above them by losing at too many matches against smaller and top sides in the first-half of the season.
Wenger’s side returns to action in the Premier League fixtures as they travel to Swansea City on January 30.
