We would be praying for this not to happen as we could be in for a real nightmare transfer scenario coming from Manchester United this January.
It’s claimed according to the Independent that not only does the Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho want to sign his former player Mesut Ozil on a free transfer this summer, but the Portuguese man also wants Alexis Sanchez this month.
In turn, the Europa League holders could snatch away two of the North London club’s best players and most important players, with the pair set to see their current contracts expire at the end of the season.
While there’ve been reports that the Red Devils will sign Sanchez this month, Ozil could arrive the club for free in the summer once his deal runs out but reaching a pre-agreement clearly hasn’t been ruled out.
As a result, this could be a huge move from the Red Devils to strenghten their squad with two world-class players, while it would take off the misery on Arsenal fans who will be disappointed enough by the sight of seeing the pair leave, let alone to join an old rival.
In contrast, it would be a stunning double swoop for Mourinho, as he would address two key issues with his current squad.
A lack of depth and quality beyond Romelu Lukaku up top, and with the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata struggling to consistently deliver, creative class from Ozil in the final third would be most welcome at Old Trafford.
