MANCHESTER UNITED would be very luck to have Alexis Sanchez if they can complete a transfer deal this month.
That’s according to new Wales manager Ryan Giggs who thinks the Arsenal man will improve any team he joins.
Manchester United are said to be leading the race for Sanchez despite long-term interest from Manchester City.
The Gunners are keen to sell this month as they would lose the Chile star for free at the end of the season as he is out of contract.
And Giggs thinks whoever signs Sanchez will be securing a bargain of a deal.
“Well Alexis Sanchez is a top player,” he told Sky Sports.
“Whoever gets him or whether he stays at Arsenal, they’re lucky, because he’s not only a goalscorer but he makes goals, he works hard.
“So whoever gets him will be a lucky team because he is a top, top player.
“It doesn’t happen very often does it where you’re running down your contract, you’ve only got six months to go and you’re able to get a player relatively cheap in this environment.
“But it is what it is and like I said, whoever gets Alexis Sanchez will be extremely lucky.”
Sanchez has netted eight times and provided four assists in all competitions for Arsenal this season.
Speaking after the shock defeat at Bournemouth yesterday, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger suggested a deal for the 29-year-old could be done imminently.
“I don’t master the rhythm of it, but it could happen today, tomorrow or not at all,” he said.
“It will be decided in the next 48 hours.”
Arsenal return to action on Saturday in the Premier League when they take on Crystal Palace.
