Arsenal may be considering Rudi Garcia as a replacement for Arsene Wenger if reports from Gazzetta dello are anything to go by.
The Frenchman’s contract at Emirates would be ending this season. He would most likely be given a contract extension irrespective of the outcome of their FA Cup final match on May 17th. He currently enjoys the full support of board but for some undisclosed reason had not signed the fresh terms offered him about two months ago. This is what is fuelling the speculation that he may want to leave the club. Hence the need for a successor.
According to Gazzetta, Roma Coach Rudi Garcia, is the one touted to be the replacement for Wenger. Garcia has had a very successful campaign this season. The coach came to Roma’s Eternal City after having won the League 1 title and cup double with Lille in 2011 in his native France. Quite an impressive record I must say.
Given his very impressive record at Roma so far, current French champions Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Garcia according to the report by Gazzetta. But Roma is confident that Garcia will sign a new contract with them next month.
Roma are hoping that Rudi Garcia will sign a €2.5m extension before they proceed to Orlando for their end –of-season tour by the ending of May. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be monitoring the situation closely and are hoping to get Garcia on a long term contract.
I don’t really see Wenger leaving the Emirates after this season. If this report is true, it may just be a bargaining chip for the French man to get a bigger pay. He’s one of the most successful coaches in all Europe and about the longest serving coach in England.
