Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be allowed to sign a world class striker in the January transfer window if he so wishes according to reports from daily mirror. Mirror are reporting the Arsenal board have told Wenger he will be supported to bolster his squad in the January transfer window should he choose to invest more money on signing a world class striker.
In the just concluded transfer window, Arsenal tried but failed to sign a world class striker. The club was linked to signing Jovetic, Higuain, Rooney and Luiz Suarez but ended up with the signature of Yaya Sanogo on a free transfer from French Second division side Auxerre.
Although Wenger managed to acuqire the service of Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil in a 42.5 million pound deal, it is still believed that what he got is not enough as many are of the opinion that for Arsenal to do well in both the champions league and the premier league, they need another striker.
If the reports from daily mirror are true, it will not be surprising if we see Wenger going back to try to sign either Rooney or Luiz Suarez.
