Reports : Arsenal To Move For Bayern Munich’s High Rated Midfielder

British sport Radio station Talksports are reporting this afternoon that Arsenal are set to make a 15 million pounds move for Bayern Munich’s Luis Gustavo. It is reported that Gustavo wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer in other to stand a better chance of making Brazil’s 2014 world cup squad.

Gustavo has been on Arsenal’s radar for the last 2 transfer windows and was reportedly close to joining the Gunners last January but nothing came out of the rumours. He has however personally admitted he will be leaving Bayern Munich before the current summer transfer window closes as the signing of Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona and Mario Goetze from Dortmund will go a long way to further reduce his chances of first team football.

Signing Gustavo will make perfect sense for Arsenal who are in the market for a new Defensive midfielder as cover for Ageing Arteta. We have been linked to several defensive midfielders this summer but none have the experience of Luis Gustavo.

  1. Let me hope this is not just a rumour as usual because we are utterly sick and tired of players being linked to Arsenal and nothing comes out of it! My wish is that this is for real and we shall concretise it and then move on to get other quality players. It is only when such signings are made that Arsenal can be considered serious title challengers. It really needs about 3-4 quality players for Arsenal to be sure that they are serious title contenders. Let the manager now show his clout and move for some top targets rather than just talking of being title contenders without the serious players to realise this ambition. Move on now and make us title winners not day dreamers!
