There is nothing going on at Arsenal in terms of club football but there are lots of reports regarding players transfer, injury and new contract talks at the club.
We reported last week that Mesut Ozil and Alexis demanded £250,000-a-week each before putting pen to paper on a new deal – The Metro is now reporting that the aforementioned duo have been told to reduce their wage demand by former player Perry Groves
Both players have contracts with Arsenal until 2018 but talks over new deal were stalled last summer. However, Arsenal are now preparing deals for the players.
Former Arsenal player Perry Groves has lent his voice to the news, indulging both players to reduce their wage demand and stay with Arsenal for the foreseeable future.
Groves told The Sun: ‘Have Arsenal got the money to spend? Yes they have. Will they get the £250,000 a week they are looking for? I don’t think they will get that.
‘Sanchez is enjoying his football; and playing well. Ozil was as slow burner but tnow they are the two big players.
‘They won’t get the money Wayne Rooney, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pogba are on, that’s not going to happen as the club have a different wage structure. But if they were realistic about their demands then I don’t see any reason why they shouldn’t sign new contracts,’ Groves added.
According to the Times, the Gunners offered the pair new deals worth around £180,000-a-week in talks last year.
