Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has praised the team’s attitude after a hard-fought win over Marseille in the Champions League.
The victory saw Ramsey score his sixth of the campaign in what already is his most prolific season as Arsenal extended their away record to 10 consecutive victories.
The Welshman feels the team has grown much stronger together and is excited about what the team can achieve.
“We’ve tried to defend as well as we can as a team. I feel like the team has grown much stronger in that department over the last couple of seasons. We showed that if we continue to try and play the way that we want to, something will happen in the end. It did and we took our chances”
The team have improved considerably over the past six months as has the performances of the midfielder himself. He was Arsenal’s stand-out performer in pre-season, alongside Olivier Giroud, and has taken his form in to the new season, just like Giroud has too. His 91 appearances before this season had wielded five goals but in just seven games this season, he has grabbed an impressive six goals, with a match-winning brace at Sunderland before netting Arsenal’s second in France.
“I think I’m just a lot more composed in front of goal now. Throughout my career I’ve been in those positions where I could have scored a goal but I’ve probably lacked that composure to put the ball away. I’ve been a bit rash at times. I’m feeling good at the moment. I’m feeling confident so hopefully this will continue.”
